How It Works

How DERMABOND ADVANCED™ works
to protect you

The adhesive material in DERMABOND ADVANCED™ forms a strong microbial barrier to protect wounds while they heal.1

DERMABOND ADVANCED™ wears off naturally during the healing process, which is usually completed within 7 to 10 days.1,2 If your doctor uses absorbable sutures and DERMABOND ADVANCED™, you will not need an appointment to remove stitches. However, your doctor may want to check on your progress.

Remember: only your doctor or other trained clinical professional can apply DERMABOND ADVANCED™.

How It's Applied

The video below shows the application procedure for DERMABOND ADVANCED™.

After cleaning your wound, your doctor or trained healthcare professional will apply
DERMABOND ADVANCED™ in one thin layer with a light brushing stroke while holding the edges of the wound together.1

DERMABOND ADVANCED™ produces a strong, flexible bond in 95 seconds.1
